ABOUT

We came together over a love of design, making and upcycling.

There’s a lot of joy in the creation of WELL MADE, HANDCRAFTED pieces and turning unused items into something new.

STUDIO DUOS is a design and maker duo, creating quality, handcrafted lights, furniture and accessories.

For us it’s about simplicity and intention. We strive to craft bespoke, beautiful pieces that are illuminating, functional and purposeful.

At their core, our designs are inspired by the natural world. Our focus is on embedding circular design solutions and giving materials a second life where we can.

Our practise begins with found materials. Materials often speak for themselves and we love allowing their unique imperfections to breath and be celebrated. Through sketching concepts, journaling and developing prototypes, we explore ideas, connections and form.

Our collections are a reflection of us. From statement pieces to functional accents, every piece tells a unique story of passion, history and craftsmanship. No two makers are the same, no two pieces are the same, no two collections are the same.

  • We design and create with beauty, longevity and the natural world at the forefront of the mind.

    Our mission is simple:

    • Create with intention

    • Always start wth circular design principles.

    • Design and craft pieces that will be loved and lifelong.

  • Our pieces are crafted using a mix of second hand items, upcycled pieces and offcuts from material warehouses. Where needed, we use new materials from sustainable sources.

    We commit to:

    • Transparency about our material choices.

    • Sourcing local materials and supporting local supplier businesses.

    • Reusing, recycling, repurposing and remanufacturing where we can.

    • Minimising waste through circular design and production.

Acknowledgement of Country

Studio duos acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional custodians of the lands where we live and work. We recognise their cultures, histories and diversity. We recognise their deep connection to Country - the lands, waters and seas, and recognise their role in caring for and maintaining Country over thousands of years.

We acknowledge the Gadigal of the Eora Nation, the traditional custodians of the place we call Sydney, and pay our respects to Elders both past and present.
